Govt to announce package on FDI in Sept

The Government will announce a comprehensive package on foreign direct investment (FDI) in the second week of September. Sources said that this package will include clarification on various policy decisions already taken and notifications which are pending. However, they didn’t clarify that whether this package will explain the position on FDI in multi-brand retail. There are issues such as definition of SME in FDI for single brand retail. The package is expected to clarify the Government’s revised position. The Government is also working on changing the FDI norms for aviation.
