Mixed trend at Kochi tea sale bl-premium-article-image

A mixed trend persisted for almost all varieties of tea at the Kochi tea auction. In Sale No: 19, the quantity on offer in the CTC dust grades was 12.48 lakh kg.

The market opened Rs 5-10 lower. As the sale progressed, the decline was more with lower margins of Rs 10-20 and more. The quantity on offer in the orthodox dust was 8,000 kg. The market for mediums was steady to firm. Bulk of the offerings was absorbed by exporters.

In the best CTC dusts, PD varieties quoted Rs 101-123; RD grades ruled at Rs 106-128; SRD at Rs 110-130 while SFD at Rs 111-134. The leaf sale also witnessed a mixed trend and the quantity on offer in orthodox grades was 99,500 kg.

The quantity on offer in CTC leaf grades was 66,500 kg and the market was lower by Rs 3-5 and more.

In the dust category, Injipara – Premium SFD quoted the best prices of Rs 157 followed by Monica SFD at Rs 148.

In the leaf grades, Chamraj Green FOP (S) fetched the best prices of Rs 305 followed by Chamraj FPS at Rs 248.
