Railways to operate Onam special between Mangalore, Chennai

Railways will operate a special train between Mangalore and Chennai to clear the extra rush of passengers during the Onam festival.

A press release by the Palakkad division of Southern Railways said here that train no. 06003 Chennai Central-Mangalore Junction superfast special train will leave Chennai Central at 6.30 pm on September 4 and 11, and reach Mangalore Junction at 11.15 am the next day.

Train no. 06004 Mangalore Junction-Chennai Central special train will leave Mangalore Junction at 2.45 pm on September 5 and 12, and reach Chennai Central at 7.45 am the next day.

The train will have three AC 2-tier, three AC 3-tier, 12 sleeper class, two general second class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kuttipuram, Tirur, Kozhikkode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod. It said train no. 06004 Mangalore Junction-Chennai Central special train will also stop at Perambur.
