Flight curbs during Aero India expo

Flight operations at Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) will be curtailed during Aero India, a global aerospace expo, from February 2 to 10.

BIA in a release said that as in the previous years, the airport will support the event this year also.

The latest in the field of military and civil aircraft and technologies will be displayed at the expo at Air Force Station, Yelahanka, adjacent to the Bangalore airport.

“Airlines have been communicated on the reduced operating hours. Passenger convenience will be ensured with the respective airlines sharing timely communication on the change in airport operations and the cancelled/revised flight timings during the length of the 2013 Aero India show,” the release added.

The following are airport closure timings: February 2 to 4: Closure time due to practice 10.30 to 12 hours and 14 hours to 16 hours.

February 5: Practice 10.30 to 12.00 hours. February 6 to 10: For conduct of Aero India show: 10.30 to 12 hours and 14 to 16 hours.

Ancillary support by airport taxi and bus service providers is being aligned to accommodate the increase in anticipated traffic towards on main airport road (NH7) resulting in increased commute times for passengers flying out of Bengaluru International Airport, the release added.
