HAL plans ₹1300-crore capex

HAL, a defence public sector undertaking, plans a capex of ₹1,300 crore with emphasise on capacity building, modernisation and setting up solar power plants.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed for the financial year 2017-18 with the Ministry of Defence (MoD). The annual MoU was signed between Ashok Kumar Gupta, Secretary, Department of Defence Production, and T Suvarna Raju, CMD-HAL. The MoU outlines targets on various performance parameters for the company during the year 2017-18. The revenue from operations has been targeted at ₹17,900 crore.

According to Suvarna Raju, the company plans to give focus on Make-in-India projects such as Hindustan Turboprop Trainer-40 (HTT-40), Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Light Utility Helicopter (LUH).
