Online travel firm MakeMyTrip has inked an agreement with Travelport’s distributor for India, InterGlobe Technology Quotient (ITQ), for the use of the firm’s travel commerce platform.

Under the terms of the agreement, MakeMyTrip can expand the use of Travelport’s technology, from the Ibibo group to its other primary distribution channels, the companies said.

MakeMyTrip had acquired the Ibibo group in January 2017. The companies, however, did not share details.

‘Committed’ partnership

“In India, we have been in the market since 1980 and have been working with our partner ITQ...We are committed to our partnership with MakeMyTrip,” Travelport President and CEO Gordon Wilson told reporters here on Wednesday.

MakeMyTrip’s decision to work with us is “a testament to Travelport’s investment in leading-edge search, shopping and booking technology”, Wilson added.

“We are very excited about the partnership with Travelport. Our partnership with Trvaelport stands out for what we want to offer to our customers,” MakeMyTrip founder, Chairman and CEO Deep Kalra said.
