The Railways carried 164.38 million tonnes of freight during April-May as against 157.23 million tonnes during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 4.55 per cent.
In May, Railways carried 84.13 million tonnes as against 79.71 million tonnes carried during the same period last year, showing an increase of 5.55 per cent.
