Low-cost carrier SpiceJet has launched its new e-commerce venture, spicestyle.com, an extension of its in-flight service, the company said in a press release.
An agreement with Amazon India will also make the portfolio of brands available on Amazon Prime.
The new venture will further boost to 19 per cent SpiceJet’s ancillary revenue income which has grown from 6 per cent to around 17 per cent in the last two years. The early investment in the portal is about ₹15 crore, a source from within the airline said while revenue expectations are almost 10 times — at ₹150 crore —for the first year. The portal will offer products in 17 categories in the value and mid-segment price range, including sunglasses, wrist watches, backpacks, silicone luggage tags and an exclusive product line from designer Rohit Bal.
