PM lauds rural electrification work

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday commended the achievements of the Ministry of Power in the field of rural electrification. “I had asked for electrification of all remaining villages in 1,000 days on August 15 last year. Within about six months or 200 days, we have crossed the 5,000 mark,” the Prime Minister tweeted on his official Twitter page. “Already 5,279 villages have been electrified. Excellent work has been done by the Power Ministry in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Assam and Jharkhand,” another tweet of the Prime Minister said.
