Centre extends deadline for Aadhaar-linked LPG subsidy in AP

The Centre has extended by one more month the Aadhaar Card linkage deadline with LPG subsidy gas supply.

The deadline has been extended from March 15 to April 15 by the Centre following a request by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, according to a statement.

According to another statement from the Chief Minister's Office, Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh informed that Andhra Pradesh has been sanctioned Rs 468.89 crore for implementation of scheme under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.

In a letter to State Chief Minister, the Union Minister informed that this was over and above Rs 2,747.85 crore already sanctioned to the State for the programme.

The latest sanction would be sufficient to complete all works by March 31, 2013, the Union Minister informed.
