The Punjab Government has said that it would offer comprehensive incentive package to attract investments for the setting up of integrated textile parks in the State.
Under the incentive scheme, the State has decided to exempt 50 per cent market fee, rural development fund and infrastructure cess for a period of 10 years on purchase of cotton, the State Industry Minister, Mr Tikshan Sud, was quoted saying in a release.
The concession would be available after the commencement of textile units, he added.
Notably, textile parks having composite processing units from cotton to garment, is being set up with a minimum fixed capital investment of Rs 250 crore in the districts of Bathinda, Mansa, Faridkot, Ferozepur, Mukatsar, Sangrur and Barnala, the Minister said.
He said the package would attract huge investments in textile sector as well as make sure good price to cotton growers.
In addition, the State would allow 10 per cent of the total land bought by the promoter, for textile projects, for commercial use without payment of any change of land use, external development charges and licence fee charges.
He added that the State Government has also identified large chunks of land in the districts of Bathinda, Mansa and Ferozepur for this purpose which could be procured by the companies keen on setting up of textile parks in the State.
