The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) is likely to open and finalise the bids to select the winner to execute Business Analytics project in the next few weeks.

The Authority has short-listed Infosys, Mahindra Satyam, L&T Infotech and Keane for the financial bidding.

“These bidders will be considered for the financial bid evaluation. We are expecting this to be completed in a week or so. We will inform the respective companies on the dates to open the financial bids,” IRDA sources told

Consulting company Deloitte had been given the task of preparing estimation in respect of digitisation, data migration and digital signatures.

The technical committee, which met last month, had taken a note of the ownership change at Keane and felt that the new owner (NTT Data of Japan) should have come out a voluntary assurance on honouring Keane's technical and commercial proposal. “Non availability of such letters from NTT Data is a major concern,” the committee felt.

“If Keane has to be considered for financial bid evaluation, a closer look has to be taken into the clients of Keane,” it felt, while considering the Keane bid.

“After reviewing the responses and evaluations made by Deloitte, the committee felt that the four companies – Infosys, Mahindra Satyam, L&T Infotech and Keane — could be short-listed for the next round of bids,” the committee felt.
