Vineet Taneja to head Samsung India’s mobile business

Samsung India Electronics Pvt Ltd today announced the appointment of Vineet Taneja as the Country Head for its Mobile & Digital Imaging Business. Taneja comes in place of Ranjit Yadav who has moved to Tata Motors.

Prior to joining Samsung, Taneja was the Operations Director, South India and Sri Lanka at Bharti Airtel at the time of leaving the company in February 2013.

He is credited with successfully leading the launch of 3G and driving the data and devices business for Airtel in its key geographies of South India. He also successfully led the Bharti Airtel business in Sri Lanka over the past 18 months.

Prior to his stint with Airtel, Vineet was the Chief Marketing Officer for Nokia India between January 2008 to April 2010. Vineet started his career with Hindustan Lever and was Vice-President, Sales & Marketing for the beverages and foods business at the time of leaving Hindustan Lever in 2005.

Speaking about his appointment, B. D. Park, President and CEO, Samsung South West Asia, stated, “Samsung India has been on a strong growth trajectory and with his vast experience in managing the business and the ecosystem, I am confident that he will further consolidate our brand position and take it to the next level in the Indian market."

Taneja said his endeavor would be to ensure that Samsung sustains growth and further builds the consumer preference for the Samsung brand through an enhanced product portfolio, enriched eco system of content and services and by building a strong team.
