Amazon.in plans to extend and strengthen its regional language books store. After launching Hindi a few months ago, the e-commerce giant has launched a Tamil book store on its portal with over 8,000 titles ranging from classics, literature, fiction, biographies, business and finance and cookery books, amongst others.
The store also has a wide selection of books in its ‘language, linguistics and writing’ section for customers who wish to hone their Tamil skills or learn other languages such as English, Telugu, and Urdu, with instructions in Tamil.
“In line with our vision to enable customers to find, discover and buy anything online, we are working towards bringing a wider selection in books in various Indian languages for our consumers. The dedicated Tamil book store on Amazon.in enables convenient and easy access for our customers, based anywhere in India, to a huge selection of Tamil books,” said Samir Kumar, Director, Amazon India.
“We are confident that this easy accessibility will encourage not only avid book readers but also occasional as well as new readers to read Tamil language books,” he adds.
The Tamil book store will offer more than 1,500 popular titles for next day delivery in 20 cities across the country, including Chennai.
