Casio launched a new watch model that can interface with iPhone through bluetooth. The watch has unique features such as notification of incoming calls and alerts on e-mail. Besides, it has ‘phone finder’ function that sets off an alarm on the phone by pressing a button on the watch.

The GB-5600 AB and GB-6900 AB model unveiled on Wednesday comes with a price tag of Rs 9,995.

The bluetooth watch also vibrates when it loses connection with the iPhone and provides regular alerts notifying the updates on facebook and twitter.

M. Naka, Managing Director, Casio India, said the company believes in introducing products with new features, and the new bluetooth-compatible G-Shock watches have been specially designed for generation next by incorporating Bluetooth v4.0.

“Though Apple’s strategy to increase its market share in India is yielding desired results, Casio is simultaneously working to make the watch compatible with Android platform,” he said.

The watch comes with a two-year battery life and has a bluetooth signal range of two metres. Additionally, it has world time function up to 100 cities, 35 time zones and daylight saving facility. The watch has built-in tilt sensor that detects movement in the watch even when it is in power-saving mode and enables to reconnect automatically to the iPhone.

As smart phones have become the integral part of life, people’s expectations from gadgets have also changed, and Casio strives to develop products that can match the changing lifestyle of consumers, said Naka.
