Nuvepro, a managed cloud environment solutions provider, on Tuesday announced raising a seed funding of $400,000 (₹25.95 crore), led by crowd-sourcing platform 1Crowd and its investor community, for deepening the firm’s R&D efforts and expansion into the global market.

1Crowd is an angel investment platform focussed on early-stage ventures. It has more than 500 investors, 50 mentors and has made over 12 investments since March 2016.

With the funds, Nuvepro will be able to leverage 1Crowd’s ecosystem of mentors, industry connections and investor community to benefit from strategic to operational support, said Giridhar LV, CEO.

As part of providing managed cloud environment solutions, Nuvepro delivers ready-to-use infrastructure and applications on a single or multiple clouds, automates resource provisioning, manages cloud resources and spends, ensures governance and compliance of cloud usage, and integrates with the existing tools. All of this is done through a single-source, self-service portal. The platform ensures that CIOs have complete control over resources, hierarchy and subscription management. The embedded analytics provides insights that will help CIOs track cloud usage, optimise resources and cut costs by over 50 per cent, the company said.

Giridhar said 80 per cent of enterprises are now using the cloud. However, CIOs are still finding it challenging to increase cloud adoption and utilisation. The returns on their cloud investments are far from realised. Nuvepro was founded with a singular vision to make the cloud work, help CIOs make the most of their cloud investments and enable them to take the competitive edge, he said. “We do it by taking complete ownership through managed cloud environment so that CIOs don’t need to worry about provisioning, governance, security, skill-building, shadow IT and managing multiple clouds.”

Anup Kuruvilla, co-Founder, 1Crowd, said Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services have made strong strides in moving resources to the cloud and making the value proposition for enterprises attractive. Nuvepro will be able to form a crucial bridge between enterprises and cloud providers by driving faster adoption, he added.

The start-up was founded in 2014 by Janakiraman S, Giridhar, Umesh Bhatt, Moyukh Goswami and Rajesh Vasudevan.
