If you plan to make a career out of analysing consumer behaviour trends out of Facebook or Twitter, a certification is just around the corner.

With an increasing interest around technology areas such as cloud, data centre and virtualisation, social networking and others, EMC plans to develop data scientists in India.

EMC plans to certify students in emerging technologies in a bid to address a huge gap in the sector.

These scientists will work on emerging technology areas like business analytics in social networking and around information management. In India, EMC through its EMC Academic Alliance programme aims to collaborate with educational institutions in the areas of storage, cloud computing, backup recovery systems and architecture and data science and big data analytics technologies.

“In 2012, through our partnerships with different educational institutions, we plan to certify 50,000 students,” said Mr Howard Elias, President and Chief Operating Officer, EMC Information Infrastructure and Cloud Services EMC Corporation. EMC has partnered with institutes such as Manipal Institute of Technology, and Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya.
