Epson India looking at Rs 1,000 cr revenue

Betting big on growth from inkjet printers and projectors, Epson today said it aims to achieve a revenue of Rs 1,000 crore by March 2015.

“Our revenues in 2012-13 stood at Rs 706 crore and we are growing at about 18 per cent annually, so we aim to achieve revenues of Rs 1,000 crore by March 2015,” N Sambamoorthy, Director - Sales and Marketing, Epson India said.

He said sales of both inkjet printers and projectors are growing at 30-35 per cent. The company is very bullish on home market which includes products like home theatre projectors and head-mounted display (HMD) devices.

“We want to close 2013-14 at Rs 840 crore,” he added.

The company, which has launched a HMD device around eight months back, is currently working with third party players to develop some applications that can be used on it.

The device, based on Android platform has a 1GB built-in memory, which can be upgraded up to 32 GB with a memory card and comes with Dolby mobile stereo earphones.

The device is available for Rs 42,499.

The company, which has launched its M-series printers a few months ago, claims that per page printing cost on M-series is as low as 12 paise.

In terms of units, Epson India has 19.7 per cent share of the inkjet printer market in India.
