Ericsson signs MoU for CSR initiatives

Ericsson on Monday signed an MoU with Smile Foundation and NASSCOM Foundation to implement its corporate social responsibility initiatives in India, the company said in a statement.

With Smile Foundation, it will drive STeP Smile Twin e-learning programme under which Ericsson will support 30 STeP centres for a period of three years to provide education to underprivileged youth. As a part of Smile on Wheels, it will support five mobile medical units across five cities – Noida, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru - over a period of three years to promote community health, the statement added. 

In partnership with NASSCOM Foundation, Ericsson will adopt and support 50 existing National Digital Literacy Mission centres across India and train approximately 50,000 people on Information and Communication Technology over a period of eighteen months, the company said.
