Ericsson India revenues in the fourth quarter of 2014 grew 20 per cent to SEK 2.4 billion, or $289 million.

India now contributes 4 per cent of the Swedish major’s global revenues compared with 24 per cent from the US and 6 per cent from China.

Network business

Ericsson India, headed by Chris Houghton, has clocked SEK 1.2 billion from networks, SEK 1 billion from global services and SEK 0.2 billion from support solutions.

The network business of Ericsson India rose 1 per cent, global services 38 per cent and support solutions 127 per cent in Q4 2014.

Ericsson India has an employee base of 19,971, the largest workforce in a single country for the Swedish major.

Operator spend

The fourth quarter of 2014 was also the highest revenue quarter for Ericsson India in the last eight quarters.

Sales increased mainly due to higher operator spending driven by continued growth in mobile data traffic.

Global service sales showed strong development, mainly as a result of the first pan-India managed services contract.

Full-year sales growth was driven by mobile broadband infrastructure investments.
