Local search platform Getit Infomedia, previously known as Getit Infoservices, is planning foray into overseas market soon.

Getit Infomedia CEO Jaspreet Bindra said the recent success of local search engine Just Dial’s IPO has helped creating awareness among public about the search engine space.

“We have some plans to go across Asia. We have plans to launch in South Asia in another two to three months time.

Wherever we go, we will prefer to go with local partners. We believe Asia has very good potential,” Bindra told PTI on the sidelines of a programme.

“Just Dial is a fantastic company and I really want to congratulate them. They have done a fantastic job. I am also very happy because of Just Dial’s IPO...People have suddenly discovered the importance of this space. The fact is that there is a lot of potential in this space,” he added. Replying to a query, Bindra said the company has plans to go for an IPO only after 2-3 years from now.

Getit, supported by Malaysia’s Astro (as a strategic investor), besides VC investor Helion Venture Partners, has recently acquired Infomedia YellowPages and AskMe from Network18 Group and has added a new monetisation channel with the launch of its online marketplace Getit Bazaar.

“We will build this company for the next two to three years. We also have Just Dial like plans (raising capital).

But we will start thinking of them only after two to three years from now,” said Bindra without elaborating on revenue details.

Getit currently has a database of 6 million business and trade firms of which 1.2 lakh are paid or billing customers.
