Google's doodle on Monday focussed on the Perseid meteor shower.
The interactive doodle, or to be more exact, a short video with music playing in the background, shows shooting stars across the sky.
According to several websites, the doodle shows how the meteor shower would appear to a person on earth.
The Perseid meteor shower is linked to the comet Swift-Tuttle and have derived their name due to the radiant they appear to arrive from. This radiant is in the Perseus constellation, that is named after a character in Greek mythology.
Belgian astronomer Adolphe Quetelet is said to have discovered this meteor shower in 1835.
This celestial event can be seen from mid-July each year, primarily in the northern hemisphere.
According to websites, The Perseid meteor shower is at its best between August 9 and August 14.
