Glimpse of Google Pixel 4

While product render and pre-launch design leaks becoming a norm ahead of big budget smartphone launches, Google surprised the tech world with a picture of the Google Pixel 4 phone on the wee hours of June 13.

The image shows the back side of the mobile which consists of 3 cameras (Dual cameras + TOF sensor/Infrared camera) and a possible dual tone flash.

The Pixel 4 is touted to be the first Pixel phone with a dual camera setup, while from the Pixel 2 range onwards phones have come with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) as well as laser rangefinder (Predecessor technology of TOF) for distance mapping for the single rear camera.

While guesses going around on the internet for the camera setup include a wide lens, a telephoto lens for the two cameras.

The third one is rumored to be a TOF(Time of Flight) camera/infrared /laser sensor module which will be used to capture distance and depth information using lasers and the two other cameras. Thus, make for more natural portrait mode shots for which the Google Pixel range has become synonymous with over the years.

TOF sensor technology have been seen in the LG G8 thinQ, Honor View 20, Huawei P30 Pro along with few other phones along with dual and triple camera setups.

It has almost been a month since Google launched its budget Smartphone series - which include the Google 3A and Google 3A XL.

The smartphone series was launched at price of $399 (i.e approximately Rs 27, 747) at the Google I/0 Conference on May 7. The India launch price of the phones, however, was at Rs 39, 999.
