Keen on targeting the growing small and medium business segment in India, HP showcased solutions such as computers, storage and networking equipment. The company has also invested another $4 million in its global programme HP LIFE (Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs) to enable SMBs to create new revenue streams. Mr Rajesh Dhar, Director, Industry Standard Servers, HP Enterprise Business, HP India, told press persons, “There are 4 million SMBs in India and the market size for IT is $5 million.”

In order to address their needs, Mr Subhodeep Bhattacharya, Director, HP Networking, HP India, said that HP was moving from a 3-tier to a 2-tier architecture and launching two networking products, the HP1410 and the HP1810. It is also targeting tier-II and tier-III cities, said Mr Dhar. Discussing the needs of SMBs, Mr Bhattacharya said, “They are receptive to technology but want us to show TCO.
