SmartCloud to assist firm in centralising operations

Technopark-based Confianz Information Technologies has selected IBM’s cloud computing infrastructure to deliver its services.

Styled SmartCloud, this is an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering from IBM.

IaaS is a provision model in which an organisation outsources equipment used to support operations including storage, hardware and servers, etc.

SmartCloud will help Confianz centralise operations, drive greater efficiency and ensure flexibility of scalable computing power and infrastructure.

It will also ensure faster response time, improved service delivery and a quicker go-to-market to Confianz offerings.

SmartCloud is based on a pay-as-you-go model and is deployed based on business need thereby reducing the operating expenditure.

Confianz provides a wide range of services including web and application development, industry specific solutions development and software products.

GLOBAL ACCESS

“Harnessing cloud is one of the key ways organisations can keep pace with ever increasing consumer expectations and competitive pressures,” said Anoop Menon, managing director and chief executive officer, Confianz.

“Partnering with IBM has not only ensured access to global expertise and quality of service but also ensured that critical data will be secured,” he added.

G. Dharanibalan, executive, offerings management and development, global technology services, IBM, India/South Asia, said that enterprises are adopting cloud computing to not only change the economics of IT, but to help drive transformative business outcomes.

IBM STRATEGY

Thiruvananthapuram is an important city for IBM, he said. It has experienced significant growth in recent years due to the development of the travel industry, educational institutions and IT services.

IBM has been working with clients in the region to provide advanced software solutions, technologies and services to aid business growth.

Thiruvananthapuram forms a major part of IBM’s geo expansion strategy in India to increase its presence in smaller, rapidly developing cities.
