Aditya Birla group company Idea Cellular has posted a 97.6 per cent rise in consolidated net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013. Its net profit went up to Rs 462.7 crore as against Rs 234.1 crore reported in the same quarter a year ago.
Revenues went up by 18.8 per cent to Rs 6,538.7 crore (Rs 5,503.6 crore).
Ahead of the results announcement, the company scrip hit a new high of Rs 174.35, before settling at Rs 167.35, 0.98 per cent lower than the previous days close on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
