JNTU to confer doctorate on Narayana Murthy

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad will confer honorary doctorate (Honoris Causa) on Infosys’ Founder and Chairman-Emeritus, Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy.

Mr Narayana Murthy will be conferred this honour at the third convocation of the university to be held on May 7, Prof. Rameshwar Rao, Vice-Chancellor, JNTU, told newspersons here on Saturday.

Mr Murthy will also deliver the convocation address.

During the convocation, 74,043 undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D degrees will be awarded.

The Government has also given permission to establish a new constituent college of engineering at Singoor in Medak district from the academic year 2012-13, Prof. Rao said.
