The Mahindras will not shift the headquarters of Mahindra Satyam to Mumbai after the merger with Tech Mahindra.

The combined entity will have a registered office in Mumbai and there would be no change in the respective headquarters.

“There is no concept of HQ in an organisation like ours,” a Mahindra Satyam spokesperson said.

While announcing the decision to merge the two firms, Mr C.P. Gurnani, Chief Executive Officer, had said that the combined entity would have its headquarters in Mumbai.

This had caused a flutter among Satyamaites here. “Soon after the announcement, the top brass has reached out to us to clarify that there would be no change in headquarters. It is only Registered Office they are going to change,” a Mahindra Satyam old timer told Business Line .

Meanwhile, the company is organising several town hall meetings in order to dispel fears on loss of jobs after the merger. “These meetings have helped to some extent. Some of us are looking at increased responsibilities in the new dispensation.

“The company had not done really well to groom middle-level management after the change in management in 2009. We see an opportunity at this level,” the executive said.

Structure testing tool

Mahindra Satyam launched Structural Testing Analysis and Measurement of Projects (STAMP) that throws light on the structural quality of clients' applications.

The company has tied up with CAST that provides Software Analysis and Measurement solutions to offer STAMP.

“About 30 per cent of production defects are due to structural quality. This service will help clients' application owners identify the structural issues before they reach production,” Mr G.S. Raju, Global Head (Testing Services) of Mahindra Satyam, said here in a statement.

It will provide an insight for implementing corrections prior to current or future delivery of software, reducing the risk in production and optimising the overall cost of correction, he said.
