Mapmygenome gets funding

Mapmygenome, a personal genomics and predictive tests firm, has raised pre-Series A round of funding from multiple sources. The company, however, has not divulged the size of the funding.

The investors include Aarti Grover (Managing Director - CMS Computers), Rajan Anandan (Managing Director - Google India), Arihant Patni (Managing Director of Hive Technologies) and Satveer Singh Thakral - CEO of Singapore Angel Network.

Anu Acharya, Chief Executive Officer, said the firm would utilise the funds to scale its activities in India and abroad.

Avendus Wealth Management Pvt. Ltd, the wealth management subsidiary of Avendus Capital Pvt. Ltd., was the advisors for this round.  “We are planning to expand our team and invest in assets and research,” she said here in a statement on Monday.

Aarti Grover has said that there was a good potential in the genomics sector.

“Genome mapping is at the frontier of technological innovation. We are backing this experienced team to scale and make this technology commercially available to health conscious people,” Satveer Singh Thakral, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Angel Network, said.
