Much of Microsoft's recent growth has been fuelled by its cloud computing business.

Microsoft, at its Build conference currently under way at Seattle in the US, has introduced new technologies across its products aimed at developers.

The company announced the general availability of Microsoft Graph data connect, a service that helps organisations bring together productivity data from the software and their own business data securely and at scale, using the Azure Data Factory.

A statement from Micrsoft said that it is now generally available as a feature in Workplace Analytics, as well as a standalone SKU for independent software vendors.

Microsoft has also introduced Fluid Framework, a new web-based platform for shared interactive experiences.

It will enable content from the web or apps to be deconstructed and reconstructed into modular components, the company said.

Microsoft Edge, the browser, will also get new features.

These include an IE Mode, which will let users run Internet Explorer-based apps on the Edge browser, three levels of privacy, and Collections, which will allow users to organise, share and export content efficiently.

The company has also brought enterprise identity system Azure Active Directory to GitHub, a software development platform that it acquired.

This enables GitHub Enterprise customers to gain the benefits of Azure AD identity management and security, along with synchronisation of accounts across systems.

Developers can now use their existing GitHub account, including Azure Portal and Azure DevOps, to sign into Azure, a statement from Microsoft said.
