Lava launches multi-lingual feature phone

Homegrown mobile handset maker Lava International on Tuesday launched a new feature phone – KKT Ultra+ Uninon – priced at ₹1,500.

The phone, made for India, enables SMS communication in 22 languages including Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Maithili, Manipuri, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.

It is equipped with hassle free wireless FM support suites for the needs of music lovers, along with audio/video playback option through a 3.5mm audio jack. It has a 2.4-inch screen, dual SIM slots, VGA camera and 1700mAh battery with talk time of 18 hours, the company said.

“Through this phone, we want to bridge the language barrier and enable people to communicate in their own language,” Gaurav Nigam, Head Product, Lava International said at the launch.
