Progress Software has called for applications from start-ups for its cohort programme, the Progress Incubator Programme in India. The incubator, located at Progress’ office at Madhapur in the city, provides work space for the hand-picked start-ups. They will also get mentors to help them build products.

“The programme is open to all start-ups and university students across India, with a business app idea that is in a prototype stage,” said Ramesh Loganathan, Vice-President (Products) and Managing Director, Progress India.

Programme benefits
Launched last year, the firm takes 5-6 start-ups every six months to spin them into a full-fledged start-up from the idea stage.

“The programme takes early stage start-ups on board and helps them build business applications. Participants get access to Progress Application development and deployment platforms as well as data connectivity solutions for free,” he said.

Those interested may submit their applications by October 25.

Ramesh said the first edition handheld five early stage start-ups, which included HackerBay Software and Vital Buyer Process Outsource. “Besides helping them build a product, we will also help them in getting access to markets and potential investor opportunities,” he said.
