Project managers play a major role in getting things done in the IT companies. They take all the pressure but are not getting enough credit for the work they do, according to NS Parthasarathy, President and Chief Operating Officer of Mindtree.

“Project managers are at the centre of all of the work. They face pressure from both within and out. We need to help project managers take all that pressure,” he said.

He was here on Tuesday to release the book on Life of a PM in Support and Maintenance written by Ravikumar Peddibhotla. “They require not just theoretical knowledge but also knowledge on practical issues that they face every day,” he said.

Stating that the IT industry in the country was poised for a significant change over the next five years, he said the IT industry would see more change in the next five years than that it witnessed in the last 20 years.

The 130-page book dealt with understanding the client’s IT organisation, operations management, understanding of processes, procedures and protocols and how to take up customer interactions.
