Samsung launches Galaxy Tab S at ₹37,800

Samsung Electronics India on Tuesday launched new Galaxy Tab S with advanced display technology.

The range will be available from the middle of this month priced at ₹37,800 for 8.4-inch and ₹44,800 for 10.5-inch.

“The product is thinnest, lightest and is equipped with super AMOLED touch-screen. The launch of Galaxy Tab S will further propel us in this growing category and facilitate ground-breaking success,” Asim Warsi, Vice-President, Mobile and IT, Samsung India, told reporters here.

He said the company has now six tablets in its portfolio in India, priced between ₹12,000 and ₹60,000, adding that Samsung India has over 50 per cent market share in the tablet category.

The new tablets are powered by Exynos 5 Octa-core processor incorporating 3GB RAM and a 16GB of internal memory which is expandable to 128GB. Equipped with Android's latest Kit-Kat operating system, it has 8 megapixel rear camera and 2.1 megapixel HD front camera.
