About 80 incubators, mentors, investors, associations to come together

The Hyderabad start-up ecosystem is doing something unique – all the stakeholders in the ecosystem are coming together to form an information sharing platform.

About 80 organisations, institutes and individuals, playing major role in building start-up ecosystem in the city, will gather here on February 15 to discuss how to build a unified network.

Nasscom Vice-President and Cyient Executive Chairman B V R Mohan Reddy, Peepul Capital founder Srini Raju, Progress Software Managing Director Ramesh Loganathan and several top executives of corporates, investment funds and incubators would attend the meeting.

Start-up event organisations, mentors and shared infrastructure providers too will join the platform. Hyderabad for Innovation, which has representation from top businesses in Hyderabad, Hyderabad Angels, the Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), the Hyderabad Software Exporters’ Association (HYSEA), IIIT and IIT (Hyderabad) too will join the initiative.

“The ecosystem system in Hyderabad is one of the most vibrant and equipped ones in the country. We still want to make it much more active and networked. Everyone should know everyone,” Ramesh Loganathan, a start-up advocate, told Business Line.

“At present, start-ups and other players do know whom to talk to on certain issues. The platform aims at removing that layer, allowing the members to reach out to the relevant people and organisations. We are going to release a directory, physical and virtual, of all resources in the ecosystem” he said.

“When you operate in a network, your efforts are amplified. It becomes easier to do things.

The city is going to have the country’s biggest start-up facility T-Hub, which is going to house incubators, start-ups and investment funds. Funded and promoted by the Telangana State Government, the hub project is being taken up in two phases.

Work on the first phase had begun last week at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Hyderabad).
