Scrips move in tandem with show of political parties in AP

Scrips of companies associated with political leaders in Andhra Pradesh moved in tandem with the electoral tally of their respective parties today.

Companies associated with the Telugu Desam Party saw significant gains on the BSE today, as the party was on a victory march in Seemandhra and better than expected show in Telangana.

Heritage Foods, managed by N Bhuvaneshwari, wife of TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu, surged 6.98 per cent to close at Rs 338.70.

Similarly, Sujana Towers, promoted by Rajya Sabha MP and spokesperson of TDP, Y S Chowdhury, clocked a rise of 5.80 per cent to close at Rs 15.51.

The BSE Sensex gained 216 points or 0.90 per cent during the day.

Visakha Industries, promoted by G Vivek, who lost on a Congress ticket from Peddapalli in Karimnagar in the LS polls, slipped 2.14 per cent to close at Rs 68.50.

Amara Raja Batteries rose 0.25 per cent to close at Rs 384.45, while its promoter Jaydev Galla was leading from Guntur as markets closed.

Ramky also rose 0.60 per cent to close at Rs 66.15, though its promoter A Ayodhya Rami Reddy lost from Narsaraopet, where he contested on a YSR Congress ticket for the Parliament.
