Sugar prices ruled steady at lower level on Friday after losing ₹30-40 a quintal in the past four days. With routine arrivals, local dispatches and limited activities naka and mill tender prices remained unchanged. Enough stocks and continuous selling by producers kept the volume thin. However, millers are now not very keen to sell at discounted prices. Arrivals at Vashi market were 59-60 truck loads and local dispatches were about 57-58 loads. About 17-18 mills offered tenders and sold about 24,000-25,000 bags at ₹2,250-2,380 (2,250-2,380) for S-grade and ₹2,370-2,480 (2,370-2,480) for M-grade.

The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,412-2,565 (2,412-2,575) and M-grade ₹2,542-2,726 (2,542-2,726). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,340-2,450 (2,350-2,450) and M-grade ₹2,440-2,600 (2,450-2,600).
