Turmeric and jeera prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital on Saturday on fresh buying by stockists and exporters.

Restricted arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices.

Turmeric prices rose by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 6,500-9,800 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also rose by Rs 100 each to finish at Rs 15,200-15,300 and Rs 18,400-18,900 per quintal, respectively.

Traders said buying support from stockists and exporters against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly pushed up turmeric and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.
