Weather woes push soyabean up

Unseasonal rains, snowfall and slack arrival have lifted prices of both soya oil and soya seeds in Indore mandis notwithstanding weak global cues, slack and subdued buying.

On Monday, soya refined in Indore mandis ruled at ₹600-605 for 10 kg, while soya solvent was quoted at ₹582-87.

Rains and slack arrival have also lifted soyabean in Indore and other mandis in Madhya Pradesh in the past one week. Amid arrival of 40,000-50,000 bags, soyabean in mandis across Madhya Pradesh was quoted at ₹3,350-90 a quintal (₹3,160-3,270 last week).

Plant deliveries rose to ₹3,325-90 (₹3,325-70). Soyameal ruled stable in the domestic market at ₹28,500-700 a quintal on slack and subdued demand.
