Wheat dara gains on buying by flour mills

In restricted activity, wheat dara prices inched up by Rs 5 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on some buying by flour mills.

However, maize and barley weakened by on reduced industrial offtake.

Traders said scattered inquiries from flour mills helped wheat dara prices to trade marginally higher.

Adequate stocks against reduced industrial demand helped maize and barley prices to weaken, they said.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) inched up by Rs 5 to Rs 1,195-1,200 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by the same margin at Rs 1,200-1,205 per 90 kg.

Maize also moved up by Rs 30 to Rs 700-730 per 50 kg.

On the other hand, maize and barley prices declined by Rs 10 each to Rs 1,120-1,130 and Rs 1,190-1,215 per quintal, respectively.
