BSF seizes gold in West Bengal

One person was arrested and gold worth Rs 1.65 crore seized by the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel from Amudia, near Swarupnagar in North 24-Parganas district of West Bengal. Amudia is located around 93 kilometres north of the city.

According to BSF, 27 gold biscuits, 1 gold bar and 8 gold rods weighing approximately 5.8 kg were recovered from a person identified as Sohar Ali Gazi (38).

The apprehended person has been handed over to the local police.

The South Bengal Frontier of the BSF has seized more than 50 kg of Gold and has apprehended 29 smugglers this year itself, the BSF said in a release.
