Billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has raised his stake in Geometric by acquiring an additional stake of 3.38 per cent through the open market. With this latest acquisition, his take in the company has gone up to 19.13 per cent from 15.74 per cent before the acquisition.
In a notification to the stock exchanges dated October 5, Geometric said Jhunjhunwala purchased the additional 21,25,000 shares from the market between September 25 and October 5.
According to the BSE Web site, he held 93,86,250 shares in the company or 14.95 per cent stake at the end of quarter ended September while his wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala held 9,90,000 shares amounting to a 1.58 per cent stake for the same period.
The company’s scrip ended at Rs 117.50 on the BSE on Tuesday, down 0.13 per cent from its previous close.
