M-cap of top-9 Sensex cos climbs by Rs 49,900 cr

The combined market valuation of top-nine Sensex companies surged by Rs 49,899.8 crore last week, with Coal India emerging as the biggest gainer.

Except ONGC from the top-10 firms, TCS, RIL, HDFC Bank, CIL, ITC, Infosys, Sun Pharma, HDFC and SBI, saw increase in their market capitalisation (m-cap).

CIL’s market value soared Rs 10,422 crore to Rs 2,59,318.34 crore.

The m-cap of HDFC Bank climbed Rs 8,519.34 crore to Rs 2,66,993.12 crore, TCS’s valuation jumped Rs 8,412.74 crore to Rs 5,08,103.83 crore and that of HDFC gained Rs 8,037.15 crore to Rs 2,03,038.79 crore.

Sun Pharma’s market cap soared Rs 4,981.18 crore to Rs 2,08,691.88 crore, SBI added Rs 3,707.44 crore to Rs 2,00,542.34 crore.

Market valuation of ITC rose Rs 2,685.2 crore to Rs 2,47,278.78 crore and Infosys added Rs 2,147.64 crore to Rs 2,31,095.60 crore.

Similarly, the m-cap of RIL went up by Rs 987.11 crore to Rs 3,23,498.17 crore. In contrast, ONGC’s valuation declined by Rs 4,919.41 crore to Rs 2,67,957.95 crore.

In the ranking of top-10 firms, TCS stood at number one position followed by RIL, ONGC, HDFC Bank, CIL, ITC, Infosys, Sun Pharma, HDFC and SBI.

Over the past week, the benchmark BSE Sensex gained 495.67 points to end at 27,811.84.
