NSE ties up with Banaras Hindu University

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has signed an agreement with the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (BHU) to launch two new streams - B. Com (Honours) in Financial Market Management and MBA (Financial Management).

These degree programmes would be offered in collaboration with NSE from the current academic session 2015-16.

Students opting for B. Com (Honours) Financial Market Management and MBA (Financial Management) have to simultaneously clear 10 to 14 papers from the NCFM certifications series. They will acquire market skills through Web-based market-simulated NSE Learn to Trade software from NSE.

Commenting on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Chitra Ramkrishna, Managing Director & CEO, National Stock Exchange, said this was part of NSE's endeavour to promote financial literacy.

"Such courses are capable of giving India some of the finest financial managers in future. The ever-growing Indian capital market requires professionals who can participate in nation building and wealth creation", she said.

BHU is an internationally reputed institution of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi.

Ravi Varanasi, Chief – Business Development, NSE, said “These courses will help in bridging the skill deficit gap, and prepare the younger generation for exciting opportunities in the financial market.”

K P Upadhyay, Registrar, BHU, and Rana Usman, Senior AVP, NSE, were present during the signing ceremony.

NSE has existing tie-ups with several universities/institutions of higher education, besides working closely with several state education boards and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
