Wall Street ends higher

Wall Street ended the session higher on Tuesday but investors remained cautious over the crises in Japan and the Middle East and North Africa.

The Dow Jones industrial average rose 85.37 points or 0.7 per cent to 12,283.25. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 8.24 points or 0.63 per cent at 1,318.43. The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 22.56 points or 0.83 per cent to 2,753.24.
