What to watch. Dr Datsons: Leaders Group Asia eying control

Shares of Dr Datsons Labs will remain in focus on Monday, as its board is meeting to discuss a proposal from Leaders Group Asia Ltd to acquire majority stake in the company. The board will also discuss the demerger of the active pharmaceutical ingredients and formulations divisions of the company. Datsons had entered the formulations business following the acquisition of Prophyla Biological Pvt Ltd in March 2010. Investors will be keen to know the finer details of the deal.

New order may boost Siemens

Shares of Siemens will be active as the company, after market hours, informed the stock exchanges that it had bagged an order worth ₹317 crore. The company received the order from a joint venture company of Bihar State Power Holding Co Ltd and Power Grid Corp of India for installation of 220-kV gas-insulated substations. The order involves setting up of 220 kV and 132 kV gas-insulated sub-stations on a turnkey basis, Siemens said. The stock on Friday about 2 per cent to ₹885.

Inflation data to keep bank stocks active

Shares from the banking and financing space such as SBI, HDFC Bank, LIC Housing Finance and Punjab National Bank will be in focus on Monday as retail inflation in November eased to a record low of 4.38 per cent from 5.52 per cent in October. Last week, RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan had held out hopes of a change in monetary policy stance early next year, including outside the policy review prospects if inflation trends turns favourable and the Government controls the fiscal deficit.
