IT index emerges top loser on BSE

With three of the four major IT companies coming out with their results, the IT index was the biggest loser among the sectoral indices on the BSE this morning.

HCL Tech and TCS, which came out with their Q3 numbers yesterday that were perceived to be good, also shed value along with Wipro, which is yet to come out with its third quarter results for the current fiscal.

Infosys lost Rs 50.25 to trade around Rs 2,610 and the stock appears yet to shake out the Q3 blues. TCS, despite its strong performance, was down by Rs 36.25 or 3.28 per cent at Rs 1,068.05.

HCL Tech was relatively better, losing a mere 65 paise to trade at Rs 424.10. Wipro was trading at Rs 404.90, down by Rs 9.80.

Of the ten stocks in the IT index of the BSE, only Core Projects and Oracle Financial Services Software were trading in the green. The BSE IT index was down by 118 points at 5,517.
