ONGC shot up 4.39 per cent to end the week as the top gainer on the NSE as well. It was quoting at Rs 282.85 at the close. The share had finished the overnight session at Rs 270.95.
Tata Motors also rallied further to notch up gains of 2.69 per cent at Rs 393.40 against Rs 383.10 at close yesterday.
Vedanta was firm but off its morning highs. It was trading at Rs 129.30 against Rs 126.60 at close on Thursday. This was a gain of 2.13 per cent.
BPCL advanced 1.80 per cent to trade at Rs 955.5 versus Rs 938.6 at close overnight.
Grasim Industries gained 1.51 per cent at Rs 3,808.7 versus Rs 3,752.15 at close on Thursday.
