YES Bank sells 2.13% stake in Fortis

The companies are required to inform the exchanges if the change in shareholding of an entity is over 2 per cent

The stock of Yes Bank closed 1.21 per cent down at Rs 178.90 on BSE on Tuesday

Private sector lender YES Bank, on Tuesday, said it has sold 2.13 per cent stake in Fortis Healthcare in various tranches.

“YES Bank has sold 1.23 crore equity shares …constituting 2.1279 per cent of the paid-up share capital of Fortis Healthcare Limited (FHL) in various tranches, the last being on December 18, 2018,” the bank said in a regulatory filing.

This has resulted in a change in holding of the bank by more than 2 per cent of the total shareholding of Fortis Healthcare Limited from the last disclosure made by the bank on March 15, 2018, it further said.

Stake reduction

YES Bank had, in March this year, sold 2.17 per cent stake in Fortis Healthcare, out of the 17 per cent stake it had acquired to become the largest shareholder of the company.

However, it has been gradually reducing stake in Fortis Healthcare since then.

YES Bank shares fell 1.21 per cent on the BSE and closed at ₹178.90 apiece. Meanwhile, Fortis Healthcare Limited shares fell 0.84 per cent on the BSE and ended at ₹136.35 apiece.
