NDTV’s e-commerce venture Smartcooky, which focuses on healthy food, has raised undisclosed funding from VLCC founder Vandana Luthra.

The media company has previously raised funds from multiple investors that valued the start-up at $12 million (about Rs 80 crore).

“We are delighted to have Vandana Luthra, a pioneer in the field of wellness, as an investor in Smartcooky. We see this alliance as a strategic one, where both parties are bound to gain,” said NDTV Group Executive Co-chairperson Prannoy Roy.

Smartcooky’s other investors include Rajan Anandan (Vice-President and MD of Google South East Asia and India) and Pramod Bhasin (former President and CEO of Genpact).

Smartcooky is based on NDTV’s current food site, food.Ndtv.com that witnesses almost three million visitors a month, the company said.
